Indonesia’s electric vehicle options are increasingly taking shape amid a volatile market, with the rupiah also weakening against the US dollar. The latest entry is the Chery Q, which is set to arrive in Indonesia and broaden consumer choices, particularly for those seeking a compact vehicle. Although not officially launched yet, pre-booking for the Chery Q has opened through the brand’s customary pre-booking programme. For consumers interested in this compact electric vehicle, a deposit of Rp 5 million suffices. The official price is expected to be announced at the GIIAS 2026 event.

So, what are the specifications of the Chery Q destined for Indonesia? In terms of dimensions, the Chery Q measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width, 1,573 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The car features an eye-catching design that blends circular and square elements on the exterior to deliver a modern, playful, and distinctive look.

Premium colour options are also offered to enhance personalisation, with three choices: Dusk Purple, Oat Latte, and Spark White.

Despite its compact dimensions, the cabin remains spacious with flexible seating. The Chery Q offers rear leg room of 977 mm and headroom of 985 mm, allowing passengers to enjoy a more comfortable cabin.

This advantage reinforces its character as a compact EV that remains spacious, comfortable, and relevant to Indonesian consumer needs.

To support dynamic mobility, the Chery Q offers a range of up to 400 km NEDC on a single full charge. Supported by fast charging capable of filling from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 16.5 minutes, this is claimed to be a solution for those seeking maximum time efficiency on the road. It also features V2L (Vehicle to Load) with a capacity of 6.6 kW, enabling the Chery Q to serve as a portable energy source for external devices.

In terms of features, Chery equips its product with Autonomous Parking Assist (APA) which integrates radar sensors and a 540-degree HD Panoramic Camera to facilitate manoeuvres in restricted parking areas.

Additionally, comprehensive safety equipment is a key selling point through the Super Safe Frame body structure, with 82 per cent of the frame made from high-strength steel. There are also six airbags and an IP68 waterproof & dustproof battery certification that provides extra protection for the vehicle’s vital components.
