Chery Q Poised to Enter the Rp200 Million Electric Car Segment
Chery has officially unveiled its latest electric car, the Chery Q, for the Indonesian market on 18 May 2026. The compact electric SUV is positioned to appeal to younger generations with an active, fully digital lifestyle. In terms of design, the car features a modern and compact look, and Chery has equipped it with a range of advanced technologies and fast charging capability.
Meanwhile, a Chery salesperson in Jakarta said price announcements for the Chery Q are likely to be made at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, which runs on 30 July 2026. They also said the price positioning of the Chery Q will sit between the BYD Atto 1 and the Geely EX2, though exact figures were not disclosed.
For reference, the BYD Atto 1 is priced from Rp 235 million, while the Geely EX2 is sold from Rp 239 million to Rp 269 million. Based on that positioning, the Chery Q is expected to be priced around Rp 250 million, placing it in the affordable compact EV segment.
Currently, the Rp 200 million EV market in Indonesia is being filled with various models from Chinese to Vietnamese brands.
