Chery Q Opens Pre-Orders, Down Payment Starts at Rp5 Million

JAKARTA — Chery has begun taking early orders for its latest electric car, the Chery Q, ahead of its official launch in Indonesia. One Chery salesperson in Jakarta said that the official launch and price announcement are likely to take place at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2026, or GIIAS 2026.

‘For the launch and price announcement, it will be at GIIAS 2026. Pre-book Rp 5 million to obtain a place in the queue. Entering the first line for delivery in August-September,’ the Chery salesperson told Kompas.com on 21 May 2026.

Although the detailed specifications of the electric car had not been fully disclosed at the Jakarta unveiling on Monday, 18 May 2026, Chery confirmed that the programme is a gesture of appreciation for the first Chery Q customers in Indonesia.

The Sigma Package is an add-on feature package prepared specifically for early Chery Q customers. This package comprises four main features: Power Tailgate, Autonomous Parking Assist, Special Design 17” Rim, and External Communication Audio.

Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director Business Unit Chery Indonesia, said all features in the Sigma Package are provided at no additional cost. ‘We are including the Sigma Package, with a total value of Rp 40 million, for free,’ Budi said.

One of its major attractions is fast charging capability, enabling charging from 30% to 80% in just 16.5 minutes.

Although the official price had not yet been announced, Chery indicated the car would be priced around Rp 200 million.

The Chery Q will be available in three colours: Dusk Purple, Oak Latte, and Spark White. Distribution to customers is expected to begin in Q3 2026.
