Chery Indonesia has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the Chery Q, to the Indonesian market. The launch of this five-passenger vehicle took place at Studio 8 RCTI, Jakarta, on Monday evening (18/05/2026).

The Chery Q is designed as a compact electric vehicle to meet urban mobility needs, targeting modern young adults through its design. “The Chery Q is designed to provide a complete driving experience, space, comfort, and practicality, along with comprehensive safety,” said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director of the Chery Business Unit.

While Chery has yet to reveal the official price, the vehicle is expected to be released at an affordable price point. The Chery Q features a compact appearance with a silhouette that blends angular and rounded curves, creating a dynamic and modern look. A variety of additional cabin accessories are also available, which can be personalised according to the owner’s preference.

Chery revealed that the car is capable of travelling approximately 400 km on a full battery charge, based on the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) standard. Based on Chinese market specifications, the model measures 4,195 mm x 1,811 mm x 1,574 mm with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, and rear passenger legroom reaching 977 mm.

In terms of practicality, the Chery Q offers a rear boot capacity of up to 1,450 litres, plus a 70-litre front boot. This makes it not just a stylish compact electric vehicle, but also functional for daily needs. In addition to its compact design and practicality, the Chery Q also features smart driving systems and spacious interiors to support comfort.

“A smart cockpit is present within a comfortable and class-leading spacious cabin. This is achieved through space efficiency via the ‘smart cube design’ concept adopted by the Chery Q. This design allows the Chery Q to provide ample headroom and legroom, not only for first-row passengers but also for the second row,” said Budi.

Chery claims that public enthusiasm in Indonesia for the Chery Q is already evident, with digital searches related to the model increasing by 80 per cent in the past week. Searches primarily concern the design, specifications, potential pricing, and the opportunity for its arrival in the national market.

The Chery QQ3 EV, as this model is known in the Chinese market, successfully secured 56,879 orders within just two hours of official registration opening in March 2026. The model subsequently continued its global exposure through the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026 in Thailand under the name Chery Q.
