Chery Indonesia Records Over 3,000 Pre-Orders for Chery Q
Chery Indonesia has reported total pre-orders exceeding 3,000 units for its latest electric vehicle, the Chery Q, since the pre-order programme opened on 18 May 2026. The special offer for this new model remains available until the pre-order period ends on 15 July.
"We are optimistic this response will strengthen market confidence in the Chery Q and further inspire more consumers to switch to electric vehicles that are practical, feature the most comprehensive safety and security equipment, and align with an urban mobility lifestyle," said Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Country Director of Chery Business Unit, in an official statement.
Chery claims the model is a compact EV with a complete package, as it comes with numerous safety features and ample storage. The car is equipped with 20 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features that help enhance driving safety, particularly when navigating dense urban traffic or manoeuvring in tight spaces. In terms of storage, the vehicle has 38 multifunctional compartments spread across various cabin areas, along with a 70-litre front trunk and a rear boot expandable to 1,450 litres.
The Chery Q is powered by a 42.7 kWh battery, enabling it to travel up to 400 kilometres on a full charge based on NEDC calculations. The car also supports fast charging, allowing a charge from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 16.5 minutes.
As part of the pre-order programme, which runs until next month, Chery Indonesia is also providing a complimentary upgrade to the "Sigma Package" for all customers who place an order. This package adds features such as Autonomous Parking Assist, a power tailgate, specially designed 17-inch alloy wheels, and External Communication Audio to support communication activities outside the vehicle.
Beyond its comprehensive technology and safety features, the car is also claimed to have more affordable operational costs compared to conventional petrol-powered vehicles. The energy cost for charging the Chery Q is said to be only Rp181 per km. Consequently, the cost required is only around Rp7,240 for a daily journey of 40 km, or Rp10,860 for mobility reaching 60 km. Meanwhile, in a simulation of 1,200 km of monthly usage, the Chery Q records an estimated monthly energy cost of approximately Rp217,200.
