Chens clinch Johnnie Walker
JAKARTA (JP): Marshall Golf Club maintained Chinese Taipei's domination at the Johnnie Walker championship, when its three-man team won Asia's symbol of inter club golf supremacy in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday.
Chen Ming-hsing, Chen Ching-yao and Chen Hsiu-ho collected a Double Peoria handicap team total of 439.2 for the 36-hole event to finish ahead of joint runners-up South Korean defending champion, Taegu Golf and Country Club, and Myanmar's Yangon Golf Club on 443.2.
"We feel very lucky to have had a chance to participate in the tournament," Chen Ming-hsing said of his team's victory. Indonesia, represented by Denpasar Golf Club, finished fifth on 451.8 behind Malaysia's Kelab Golf Tanjong Emas.
Philippines' Francis Gaston took the top honor in the individual category with a total gross score of 150. (amd)
