Theme of National Vesak 2026

According to the official website of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Vesak 2570 BE/2026 carries the theme ‘Dharma as the Source of Morality and Wisdom’ with the sub-theme ‘Compassion as the Source of World Peace’. This theme is expected not only to serve as a spiritual foundation but also to be reflected in social life practices that uphold humanitarian values and harmony.

Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar stated that Vesak is a strategic momentum to strengthen national values and interfaith religious tolerance in Indonesia. According to him, the Dharma message carried in Vesak is relevant in building a peaceful and civilised society.

“The theme raised this year is very strong. Dharma as the source of morality and wisdom must become the foundation in national life. From there arises compassion that becomes the basis for world peace,” he said.
