Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The selection process for prospective employees of the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) and Red and White Fishermen’s Village (KNMP) for 2026 is being accelerated. Entering the fourth day, the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) recorded that 140,211 participants have taken the Computer Assisted Test (CAT)-based exam out of hundreds of thousands of applicants who passed administrative selection.

Quoting an official BKN release, public enthusiasm for this programme is very high, with 487,819 applicants for the President’s Best Fast Results Programme (PHTC) at the registration stage. Of that number, 483,648 applicants were declared eligible to compete for positions as human resources managing cooperatives and fishing villages across Indonesia.

Head of the Legal and Public Communication Bureau of BKN, Wisudo Putro Nugroho, provided an official statement regarding the grand objective of this massive selection process on Saturday (09/05/2026). He emphasised that the government wants to ensure only the best candidates will manage this strategic national programme.

“Through this selection, the government hopes to attract the best talents who are not only cognitively intelligent but also capable of working effectively, in line with the needs for developing the Red and White Village Cooperatives and Fishing Villages across Indonesia,” said Wisudo Putro Nugroho.

In this CAT exam stage, participants are tested through two main instruments: the Cognitive Potential Test and the Management Substance Test. The Cognitive Potential Test is specifically designed to measure two crucial aspects: work speed (speed) and thinking ability (power). This question scheme requires participants to process information accurately under limited time pressure.

BKN has observed dynamics in the field, particularly regarding the management of question completion duration, which is the main challenge for participants. Therefore, BKN provides strategy guidelines so that participants can achieve maximum results:

  • Stay focused and do not panic. Limited time is indeed a major challenge, but panic will only hinder concentration and accuracy in answering.

  • Prioritise easy questions first. Participants are advised to tackle questions deemed quicker to solve in order to maximise scores without wasting time on difficult ones.

  • Avoid excessive clicking. Each saved answer will automatically enter the database. If the screen display does not change immediately, it is due to a network lag from high access, not that the answer is not saved.

  • Allow time for pauses. Let the system complete the process of sending answers to the server. During the data transmission process and before a response, the exam time will not be counted, so participants do not need to feel disadvantaged.

  • Utilise time efficiently. Participants must pay attention to the duration of each subtest and carefully manage the pace of completion so that all questions can be addressed.

BKN also ensures that the technology infrastructure and CAT security system have been strengthened to accommodate simultaneous test implementation. This system is claimed to have been tested through previous civil servant procurements to guarantee fairness and transparency for all the nation’s best sons and daughters participating in this year’s Presidential PHTC selection.
