Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed down 0.55% at 6,220.74 on Wednesday (17/6). Gains in shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI), PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk (MORA), and PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) were the main supports for the index’s movement. Meanwhile, declines in shares of PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), and PT Impack Pratama Industri Tbk (IMPC) were the biggest drags.

Foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp328.73 billion in the regular market, but overall posted a net buy of Rp2.51 trillion across all markets. On a sectoral basis, seven out of eleven sectors closed in the red, with the industrial sector recording the deepest decline of 2.52%, while the healthcare sector posted the highest gain of 0.58%.

In global markets, US stock indices closed lower. The Dow Jones fell 0.98% to 51,492, the S&P 500 corrected 1.21% to 7,420, and the Nasdaq dropped 1.35% to 26,021. Market participants are scrutinising the Federal Reserve’s decision to hold its benchmark interest rate, while awaiting the outcome of the Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting, which is expected to raise the BI Rate by 25 basis points to 5.75%. Both agendas are considered potentially influential on the rupiah’s movement, foreign fund flows, and the short-term direction of the IHSG. The EIDO ETF index fell 1.42%, while the MSCI Indonesia index strengthened 0.33%.

On the corporate front, PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET) will conduct a mandatory tender offer for shares of PT Personel Alih Daya Tbk (PADA) for a maximum of 900 million shares, equivalent to 28.57% of the issued and fully paid capital. The company set an offer price of Rp63 per share, the same as the acquisition price. Thus, the transaction value could potentially reach Rp56.7 billion if all entitled public shares are absorbed. The MTO period runs from 18 June to 17 July 2026. Technically, INET shares are facing pressure in the 21-day exponential moving average (EMA 21) area, with a potential movement towards the Rp196 level.

Elsewhere, PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) announced a share buyback plan with a maximum fund of Rp1.46 trillion, entirely sourced from internal cash. The company’s cash position in 2025 was recorded at US$192.64 million, down from US$244.03 million the previous year. If the entire buyback is realised, MBMA’s total assets are estimated to become US$3.65 billion from the previous US$3.74 billion, while total equity is projected to become US$2.27 billion from US$2.35 billion. The company posted revenue of US$1.43 billion in 2025, down 22.18% year-on-year. However, earnings per share (EPS) increased 28.57% to US$0.00027 from US$0.00021 in 2024. After accounting for the buyback impact, EPS is estimated to increase to US$0.00028. The share buyback programme is scheduled to run from 17 June to 16 September 2026.

Meanwhile, PT Timah Tbk (TINS) set a cash dividend for the 2025 financial year at Rp88.18 per share, totalling Rp656.82 billion.
