Check: List of Stimulus Measures to Boost Consumer Spending for Eid 2026
The government continues to strengthen domestic consumption as one of the main pillars supporting national economic growth.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that various stimulus programmes, national shopping momentum, and increased mobility during religious holidays have been launched and are expected to maintain purchasing power whilst strengthening economic performance in the early year. One of the stimulus initiatives announced is the Shop in Indonesia Only (BINA) Programme for Eid 2026.
According to Airlangga, BINA targets total consumer spending of up to Rp53 trillion. He said this figure represents a 20 per cent increase compared to the previous year.
“And we hope this will continue to increase domestic consumption,” Airlangga said when opening the Shop in Indonesia Only (BINA) Programme for Eid 2026 in Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026.
Coordinating Minister Airlangga stated that the BINA programme is part of a joint effort to strengthen the domestic market whilst supporting national economic growth. Through various promotions and shopping programmes, this initiative is expected to increase consumer activity during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr.
For information, BINA Eid 2026 will be held for 25 days, from 6 to 30 March 2026, involving approximately 380 companies, 800 brands, and more than 80,000 retail outlets across various regions of Indonesia. Additionally, the programme is supported by approximately 400 shopping centres offering various promotions and discounts to the public.
Furthermore, to maintain the momentum of economic growth in the first quarter of this year, the government has prepared several economic stimulus measures. First-quarter stimulus includes food assistance for approximately 35 million beneficiary families totalling Rp11.92 trillion, as well as discounted transportation fares during the homecoming period.
In addition, the government is promoting a work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy to enable the public to benefit from various transportation incentives whilst increasing economic activity across different regions.
Consumer spending momentum is further strengthened through the distribution of Holiday Allowances (THR). On the other hand, online transportation service providers are also preparing Holiday Bonuses (BHR) for driver partners with a total value of approximately Rp220 billion.
“Of course, we hope that this momentum can drive economic growth in the first quarter. We must boost the first quarter and hope it will be higher than last year,” added Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
The government is targeting first-quarter economic growth of around 5.5 per cent this year. This target is expected to be achieved with support from increased consumer activity and sales in the retail sector. Beyond strengthening consumption, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also emphasised the importance of protecting domestic production.
“Domestic production must also be protected because all countries are seeking large markets. And Indonesia, with 287 million inhabitants, represents the largest market in ASEAN,” said Airlangga.
