The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) will announce the date for Eid 2026 through the Isbat session tomorrow. The Isbat session will be held at the H.M. Rasjidi Auditorium, Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Jakarta.

Determination Mechanism
Deliberation considering the integration of hisab data (astronomical calculations) and rukyatul hilal results (crescent moon observations) from various regions in Indonesia. The Isbat session brings together the government, ulama, academics, astronomy experts, and Islamic organisations to reach a joint decision.
Appeal to the Public
The public is urged to await the results of the Isbat session as a common reference for determining Eid al-Fitr. Differences in methods for determining the start of the Hijri month are respected as scholarly dynamics, while maintaining unity and mutual respect.
Government Prediction for Eid 2026: 21 March
Quoting from the Joint Ministerial Decree of 3 Ministers on National Holidays and Collective Leave for 2026 along with the 2026 Hijri Calendar, the government estimates that Eid al-Fitr 2026 will fall on 21 March. However, to know the exact date for Eid 2026, the public is asked to wait for the Isbat session announcement.
Long Eid Holiday Schedule 2026
As is known, based on the Joint Ministerial Decree of 3 Ministers on National Holidays and Collective Leave 2026, today, 18 March 2026, is a collective leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi. Then tomorrow, 19 March, is a national holiday for Nyepi, the Saka New Year 1948.
