Jakarta — The State Civil Apparatus (ASN) will receive special work arrangement provisions during the period leading up to and following Eid al-Fitr (Lebaran) 2026.

This special arrangement includes the implementation of flexible working practices and work-from-anywhere (WFA) capabilities, as stipulated in Circular Letter No. 2 of 2026 from the Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB).

Under the flexible duty implementation policy, WFA has been scheduled for ASN members, including civil servants, before the national holiday and joint leave period, specifically on 16 and 17 March. Subsequently, following the national holiday and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr on 25, 26, and 27 March 2026.

Despite implementing WFA, the government is ensuring that work flexibility does not reduce quality or disrupt government operations and public service delivery.

“I also remind all ASN and institutional leaders to ensure that ASN employees within their respective institutions do not offer or receive gratification related to their positions in connection with their duties,” said Minister of PANRB Rini Widyantini during a press conference at Gambir Station, Jakarta, in February, as reiterated on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

With this caveat, the government has established five WFA days for Eid, divided into two phases—before and after the celebration. These five WFA days accompany the national holiday and joint leave schedule established through the Tripartite Ministerial Agreement (SKB 3 Menteri). The schedule is as follows:

WFA Before Eid 2026:

  • Monday, 16 March 2026

  • Tuesday, 17 March 2026

WFA After Eid 2026:

  • Wednesday, 25 March 2026

  • Thursday, 26 March 2026

  • Friday, 27 March 2026

Prior to the WFA decision, the government had designated red-letter dates for Eid 1447 AH and Nyepi observance. Under the latest Tripartite Ministerial Agreement, five days of Eid leave and two days for Nyepi Day have been established.

The following is the complete breakdown of leave during Eid 2026:

  • Wednesday, 18 March 2026: Joint Leave for Nyepi Day

  • Thursday, 19 March 2026: Joint Leave for Nyepi Day

  • Friday, 20 March 2026: Joint Leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH

  • Saturday, 21 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH

  • Sunday, 22 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH

  • Monday, 23 March 2026: Joint Leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 AH
