Cheap Staple Goods Bazaar: A Form of Care Ahead of Lebaran
To ease the burden on the public ahead of Lebaran, the Yayasan Indonesia Setara (YIS) together with the National Committee for Stunting Prevention (KNPS) held the Ramadan Care Activity. The cheap bazaar was held behind SDN 11 Pisangan Baru, Matraman District, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (17/3/2026). YIS founder Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that the activity serves as a form of care towards the community, particularly in helping to meet basic needs ahead of Eid al-Fitr. As is well known, staple goods prices are creeping up ahead of Lebaran. “This moment repeats every year, so with this cheap staple goods bazaar, we hope it can make the housewives happy,” said Sandiaga in a written press release in Jakarta on Wednesday (18/3/2026). Not only does it lighten the load on the public ahead of Lebaran, continued he, the cheap staple goods bazaar is also expected to increase social concern for those in need. According to Sandiaga, everyone can share and help those who require assistance. “Indeed, ahead of Lebaran like this, everything (staple goods prices) is rising now, with this cheap staple goods bazaar, it is also hoped to inspire good deeds,” said Sandiaga.
