The government is preparing to expand the integrated public transport fare scheme in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek). Under the new fare scheme, the public only needs to pay a single fare to switch between transport modes for three hours, both during peak and off-peak hours. Currently, the maximum integration fare of Rp10,000 applies to transport modes managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Going forward, the scheme is planned to be expanded by integrating KRL Commuter Line services, thereby broadening its coverage. Secretary of the Directorate General of Land Transportation and Multimodal Integration at the Ministry of Transportation, Dedy Cahyadi, explained that the Rp10,000 integration fare is a policy of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government applicable to various transport modes under DKI Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD). “So the Rp10,000 fare integration is indeed a policy of the DKI Jakarta government, where all operator services under DKI Jakarta BUMD are integrated at a fare of Rp10,000, with the existing modes. Starting from Metrotrans, Transjakarta, then also LRT Jakarta, MRT Jakarta. And it is valid for 3 hours,” Dedy said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Friday (26/6/2026). With this scheme, the public can switch transport modes multiple times within a three-hour period without being charged separate fares, making travel costs cheaper. “If someone wants to depart and work in the DKI Jakarta area within a 3-hour period, they can use various modes. Whether using MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta, Transjakarta or feeders, including Mikrotrans. And it is calculated at only Rp10,000, which is cheaper and more efficient compared to using one mode partially with another mode,” he explained. According to Dedy, this policy has been in effect since 2022 and applies on working days or weekdays, Monday to Friday. “Try comparing from Bogor or Bekasi to Jakarta, that is already Rp20,000, right? But with mode integration within a certain time period, it is certainly cheaper. The hope is that later the public can use public transport from their residential areas to their workplaces in the DKI Jakarta area. (The scheme) has been running since 2022,” he said. Dedy explained that the payment system still uses electronic money cards as usual. The JakLingko system will read the passenger’s mode transfers so that the integration fare can be applied automatically. “So, ladies and gentlemen, if you want to experience it now, use an electronic card, any card, whether e-money, BNI Tapcash, or BRI. For example, depart at 6 am, but switch modes. Say, I take the LRT from Bekasi, then get off at Dukuh Atas and want to go to Kota, just tap Transjakarta and change stops. For 3 hours, the maximum is Rp10,000. That is how it works, it is already in effect,” he explained. He added that the government is also discussing fare integration with the Jabodetabek KRL. Currently, its implementation still requires an agreement between the central government and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, considering that the KRL subsidy comes from the state budget (APBN). “Currently, the plan is that because this is subsidised by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, it only applies to modes managed by the DKI Jakarta Regional Government. We plan to integrate with KCI, roughly the KRL in the Jabodetabek area,” Dedy said. “God willing, hopefully, if there is an agreement, because this does require a mutual agreement, we can integrate the KRL with the transport modes in the DKI Jakarta area,” he continued. Regarding the payment mechanism, Dedy assured that the public does not need to change their habits when using public transport. Passengers still tap in and tap out on each mode, while the JakLingko system will calculate the journey transfers automatically.
