Cheap Market Operation Launched Routinely in Four Majalengka Markets, Rice and Minyakita Below HET
The Cheap Market Operation (OPM) was officially launched in Majalengka Regency on Thursday (16/7/2026). The initiative aims to maintain food price stability and control regional inflation. The OPM is held routinely every Thursday at four markets owned by the regional government: Cigasong Market, Kadipaten Market, Talaga Market, and Prapatan Sumberjaya Market.
According to the Head of Market at the Majalengka Trade and Industry Office, Taufikurohman, the programme is a collaboration with Bulog Cirebon Sub-Branch. Two main commodities are supplied directly by Bulog: medium-quality SPHP (Stabilisation of Food Supply and Prices) rice and Minyakita cooking oil, both sold below the Highest Retail Price (HET). SPHP rice is priced at Rp 58,000 per 5 kg pack, cheaper than the HET of Rp 62,500. Minyakita cooking oil is sold at Rp 15,500 per litre, below the HET of Rp 15,700 per litre. To ensure fair distribution, purchases of cooking oil are limited to a maximum of two litres per person.
