ChatGPT Boss's Home Shot At After Being Hit with Molotov Cocktail
Last week was the most difficult time for Sam Altman. The home of the OpenAI owner was just hit with a Molotov cocktail, and his company was threatened with being burned down. The perpetrator, named Daniel Moreno-Gama, is 20 years old. In addition, Moreno-Gama is also accused of attempting to burn down OpenAI’s office in San Francisco. This incident occurred just one hour after the attempted arson at Altman’s home. Based on statements from security personnel at the scene, the man tried to use a chair to smash the glass door of the building. Authorities have also found evidence of incendiary devices, namely a jerrycan containing kerosene and a lighter. Although authorities did not provide information about the victim or the targeted home, an OpenAI spokesperson confirmed the incident at Altman’s residence. This crime is linked to issues raised by AI. Reports indicate that Moreno-Gama carried documents related to the potential risks of AI to humanity. The document’s title also refers to the impending extinction of humanity. The document also includes the names and addresses of board members, CEOs, and investors at several AI companies. Quoting The Standard, Altman faced a second attack on Sunday morning. The perpetrators of the incident two days after the first attack were Amanda Tom (25) and Muhammad Tarik Hussein (23). It was reported that a car carrying the two people stopped in front of Altman’s residence. Then gunshots were heard, with someone in the passenger seat extending their hand from the window as if firing one bullet towards the house on the Lombard Street side. The perpetrators fled. However, the car’s license plate was successfully recorded, leading to their arrest.
