Charges for BCA ATM
Charges for BCA ATM
From Kompas
I have been a satisfied customer of Bank Central Asia (BCA)
since BCA opened its branch office in Manado in the 1980s. And in
my opinion, the bank has so far provided good service to its
customers.
However, when I made a deposit into my Tahapan savings account
on Sept. 9, 2002, I was surprised to learn that BCA charged
administration fees of Rp 2,000 and Rp 2,500, and deducted these
amounts from my savings account twice a month from April 2002 to
July 2002. But since August 2002, BCA has only deducted Rp 5,000
from my savings account once a month.
The customer service department informed me that BCA charged a
Rp 2,500 fee for BCA ATM cardholders, and the deduction was made
based on regulations from the head office which are applied to
all BCA customers.
I object because I don't have an ATM card and I have never
used this service. Why does BCA insist that all customers use ATM
cards and impose charges at will? BCA has no right to force its
customers to use the ATM, which is an individual right. The
amount of money is insignificant, but I do not like the way BCA
treats its customers and imposes charges which I consider unjust.
