Charged with Insulting Sundanese Ethnicity, YouTuber Resbob Fights Back
YouTuber Adimas Firdaus Putra Nasihan, known by his alias Resbob, attended his first court hearing in connection with a case of defamation against the Sundanese ethnic group. Resbob faces a potential four-year prison sentence.
As reported on Monday (23/2/2026), in the indictment read out by the public prosecutor, Resbob, who is known to be a supporter of the Jakarta football club Persija Jakarta, made derogatory remarks against Viking and the Sundanese ethnic group.
The prosecutor assessed that the statements fulfilled the elements of a criminal offence as stipulated under Article 243 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 243 of Law Number 1 of 2026. The offence carries a maximum penalty of four years’ imprisonment.
After consulting with his legal counsel, Resbob indicated he would mount a defence against the charges. “We will fight this,” said Resbob’s legal representative after the hearing.
As the defendant chose to contest the charges — which is his legal right — the hearing was adjourned for one week.
“The hearing is adjourned and will resume on Monday, 2 March,” the judge stated whilst striking the gavel.
