Chaos During Hotel Sultan Execution, Crowd Sprayed with Water Cannon

The execution of a land seizure order at Hotel Sultan in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex, Central Jakarta, turned chaotic on Thursday (18/6). The disturbance began when security forces entered the hotel’s drop-off area and were blocked by a crowd. The crowd threw stones and bottles at officers, while the authorities held their ground using shields and water cannon. A total of 3,161 joint personnel from the National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the local government were deployed to secure the execution process.
