Chaos at iPhone 18 Pro Queue as Shoppers Wait Overnight

The iPhone 18 Pro series officially went on sale in Indonesia on Friday (16 October 2026). Although shops were due to open in the morning, queues for the launch and collections by customers who had pre-ordered had already stretched out since Thursday night (15 October 2026).

Many buyers shared their experiences on social media. One post showed a very dense queue snaking around one collection site.

Videos posted online showed crowds pushing one another. The crush briefly descended into chaos, with people pushing against a detector installed at the entrance to the site.

Social media users also reported that the queue had been building since midnight, even though the collection site had not yet opened.

The large crowds were thought to reflect strong enthusiasm among shoppers hoping to secure attractive gifts, including a MacBook Neo, iPad and Apple Watch. Authorised reseller iBox offered the gifts to customers who pre-ordered and collected their devices in person at four selected locations in Jakarta, Bandung, Bali and Makassar.
