Changing heads, limbs of govt

I am very pleased to see that a more modern person, such as Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will become president, and his approach to build councils or "project teams" to tackle the many problems is definitely right.

Certainly, there are many issues to be tackled, and it's hard to set priorities. However, the most important issue -- as many contributors have mentioned -- is a clean government. Don't change only the heads, but also its hands and feet!

But this is not so much my concern. My concern for the first 100 days would be: One, create low-wage jobs so that millions of jobless have an income -- e.g. cleaning up Jakarta and other cities of their waste could provide jobs for perhaps one million people; two, establish a crash program to protect all returning migrant workers from extortion by governmental and other "dark" elements and clean up the network of so-called labor expert agencies that do not follow any human rights, ethics or the law.

There are many other points I would like to share with Susilo or Kalla.
