Changan Sets Global Sales Record for 2025: NEV and Exports Soar
CHONGQING, KOMPAS.com – Changan Automobile’s performance throughout 2025 was notably positive. Sales increased, particularly supported by New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and the export market. This figure rose 8.54 per cent compared to the previous year, while also being the highest in the last nine years. With this achievement, Changan’s cumulative total sales since its inception have now surpassed 30 million units. “This positions Changan as the fastest Chinese automotive brand to reach this historic milestone,” Changan stated in an official release on Wednesday (15/4/2026). This sales surge was inseparable from the contribution of the NEV segment. Changan stated that this achievement increased by 51.1 per cent compared to the previous year. This accomplishment also sets a new record for the company. Overseas sales were recorded at 637,300 units, up 18.85 per cent year-on-year. From a financial perspective, Changan’s revenue reached 164 billion yuan, or approximately Rp360 trillion (estimated exchange rate of Rp2,200 per yuan) in 2025. This figure rose slightly by 2.67 per cent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, net profit attributable to shareholders was recorded at 4.075 billion yuan, or approximately Rp9 trillion. As for normalised net profit, it reached 2.795 billion yuan, equivalent to about Rp6.1 trillion, or an increase of 8.03 per cent year-on-year. To support product development, Changan also increased its research and development (R&D) spending. The amount reached 12.6 billion yuan, or approximately Rp27.7 trillion, accounting for about 7.67 per cent of total revenue. This figure rose 24 per cent compared to the previous year.
