Changan Secures Two Awards at IIMS 2026 as Lumin and Deepal S07 Capture Attention
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Chinese automotive brand, Changan, which operates under the Indomobil Group, has achieved positive results in its first participation in the Indonesia International Motor Show 2026. At the automotive exhibition held at JIExpo Kemayoran from 5–15 February 2026, Changan won two awards and secured hundreds of Vehicle Order Letters (SPK).
Changan’s compact electric model, the Lumin, was named the Most Affordable EV, while the Deepal S07 received the Best Medium EV SUV award. This achievement was attained just three months after Changan officially debuted in the Indonesian market in November 2025.
CEO of Changan Indonesia, Setiawan Surya, expressed his appreciation for the market’s response to both models. He stated that the awards received by the Changan Lumin and Deepal S07 serve as an initial indicator that Changan’s products are well-received by national consumers.
“We are very grateful for the appreciation given to the Changan Lumin and Deepal S07 at IIMS 2026. This award is concrete proof that Changan’s products have been warmly welcomed by the Indonesian people. This achievement is not only a source of pride for us but also a motivation to continue providing innovative, high-quality, and relevant electric vehicles that meet the needs of Indonesian consumers,” he said.
The Most Affordable EV award received by the Changan Lumin is attributed to the combination of its competitive price and the features it offers. This model is marketed at a price of Rp 183 million (OTR Jakarta). In terms of design, the Lumin features a compact appearance with modern touches such as hidden door handles and 14-inch wheels.
Despite its compact dimensions, this vehicle offers flexible space with a luggage capacity that can be expanded to 580 liters when the second-row seats are folded down. In terms of technology, the Lumin is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a Smart Keyless Entry feature. In terms of performance, this electric car is claimed to have a range of up to 301 kilometers based on the NEDC standard and supports fast DC charging, which can charge the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in about 35 minutes.
The enthusiasm for the Lumin is also reflected in the test drive activities during the exhibition. As many as 57 percent of test drive participants chose this model to try out.
In the electric SUV segment, the Deepal S07 stands out as a model with a different character. This SUV features a tech-sporty exterior design with frameless doors and the use of double insulation glass on the front doors. Its interior adopts a Luxury Yacht Interior concept combined with a 15.6-inch Sunflower Screen touchscreen and 64-color ambient lighting.
To support safety and comfort, the Deepal S07 is equipped with a Golden Shield battery with a range of up to 560 kilometers. This model is also equipped with 19 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features and an Augmented Reality Head Up Display (AR-HUD) that projects navigation information onto the driver’s line of sight. The Deepal S07 is marketed at a price of Rp 599 million (OTR Jakarta).
During IIMS 2026, this model accounted for 43 percent of the total test drive participants at the Changan booth.
Globally, Changan recorded cumulative production of 30 million units as of December 2025. The Lumin model has sold more than 500,000 units, while the Deepal S07 has reached 350,000 units in various countries. The Deepal S07 also received the Torino Automotive Design Award 2025 and a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP 2024 and ANCAP 2024 safety tests.
In Indonesia, Changan’s expansion is being carried out by strengthening its distribution network and after-sales service together with the Indomobil Group, which has more than five decades of experience. The company aims to develop up to 20 dealerships in various regions of Indonesia by the end of 2026. In early February, Changan also inaugurated its first dealership and handed over units to consumers as part of its readiness for after-sales service and technical support in the domestic market.
