Jakarta (ANTARA) - Changan Indonesia pledges to bring three new models to enliven the domestic automotive market, particularly in the environmentally friendly vehicle segment. “Hopefully, this year we plan to introduce three new models in Indonesia,” said Changan Indonesia CEO Setiawan Surya in Jakarta on Thursday. The Chinese company is currently managing the process of importing vehicles to Indonesia, including expanding its dealer network, technicians, and after-sales services. During an event with the media in Jakarta, Changan Indonesia showcased the SO5, one of the three models it will bring to Indonesia. The vehicle has dimensions of 4,620 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,600 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,880 mm. To support safety in the braking system, the Changan SO5 adopts front McPherson suspension and rear multilink. The vehicle is equipped with a 1,500 cc petrol engine paired with a 27.28 kWh LFP battery and a 160 kW electric drive motor producing 320 Nm of torque. “This is the right bridge for potential consumers who still have concerns about full electric vehicles,” said Setiawan. Changan Indonesia is still keeping the prices and launch dates of the vehicles it will bring to the country secret. The company entered the Indonesian market last year through the Deepal SO7 and Lumin.
