Chandra Asri (TPIA) Ends Share Buyback Early: Here’s Why
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Petrochemical company PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) has decided to end its share buyback programme ahead of schedule. The company halted the corporate action on 28 October 2026.
According to a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the programme was originally scheduled to run from 19 October to 31 December 2026, with a maximum allocation of Rp1 trillion. The company could repurchase up to 0.92% of its issued shares, or around 800 million shares.
However, TPIA said the programme would end on 28 October 2026, at the close of the IDX’s second trading session—earlier than the initially planned date of 31 December. The company said it was ending the programme because it planned to conduct a share buyback over a new period and change the amount of funds allocated.
“The termination of this share buyback is being carried out because the company will repurchase shares over a new period and change the amount of funds allocated,” management said on Thursday (28 October 2026).
The company stressed that ending the buyback would not have a material impact on its operations, financial condition or business continuity.
