Chairul Tanjung Praises Polri Traffic Corps Performance: Traffic Police Transformation Progressing Well
Chairul Tanjung (CT) expressed his appreciation for the performance of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps during a social gathering held at Menara Bank Mega, South Jakarta, on Monday night. The event, attended by senior officials of Korlantas Polri and representatives from the Jambi online motorcycle taxi community, served as a moment to celebrate the success of the recently concluded 2026 Ketupat Operation.
During his speech, CT highlighted that under the leadership of Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, there has been an extraordinary paradigm shift within the traffic police. He acknowledged that while the traffic police have historically been a frequent subject of social media scrutiny, the current change in work culture has fostered a greater sense of security among motorists.
The national entrepreneur noted the visible difference between the past image of the traffic police and the current state, which he described as far more transparent and solution-oriented. He observed that police presence is now more focused on managing congestion and peak-hour traffic at junctions, rather than being perceived as obstructive.
Furthermore, CT praised the reduction in unnecessary sirens and motorcade noise on the streets, an improvement he believes is highly appreciated by the public. He stated that the achievements under Irjen Agus Suryonugroho serve as concrete evidence that the transformation of the National Police is not merely a slogan but a tangible reality felt by the citizens.
CT concluded by expressing his hope that the strong foundation established by the current leadership will be maintained by future generations of Korlantas Polri to continue enhancing the institution’s reputation and serving the Indonesian people effectively.
