Chairperson and Secretary General of Ummat Party Resign from Positions
The Chairperson of the Ummat Party, Ridho Rahmadi, and the Secretary General, Taufik Hidayat, have resigned from their respective positions. The Ummat Party has appointed acting officials to fill these vacancies.
“It is true (the Chairperson has resigned) as of 20 August 2026,” said Taufik when contacted on Wednesday (2/9). He stated that he is also stepping down from his position, noting, “Yes, that is correct, because we were elected as a single package alongside the Chairperson.”
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Ummat Party Shura Council has officially accepted the written resignation letters submitted by Ridho Rahmadi and Taufik Hidayat. Referring to the provisions of Chapter VII, Article 14, paragraph (1) of the Ummat Party Statutes, the Shura Council respects the decision and has declared the resignations accepted.
“Both key leadership figures are confirmed to remain active in the party’s structural management under a new assignment formation,” according to a written statement from the Ummat Party.
The Ummat Party Shura Council has subsequently appointed Ansufri ID Sambo, who serves as the Secretary of the Shura Council, as the Acting Chairperson of the Ummat Party Central Executive Board. Additionally, Muhammad Sadiq has been appointed as the Acting Secretary General of the party’s Central Executive Board.
“The appointment of this transition formation is based on the principles of meritocracy, integrity, and loyalty, to ensure that the administrative and operational movements of the central management continue to run effectively,” the Ummat Party statement concluded.
