Chairman of the Central Board of Al Washliyah: President Prabowo Seeks to Protect the Indonesian Nation

Jakarta — The Chairman of the General Board of Al Jam’iyatul Washliyah (Ketum PB Al Washliyah), KH Masyhuril Khamis, attended a cordial gathering with President Prabowo Subianto and hundreds of ulama and leaders of Islamic community organisations at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 5 March 2026, coinciding with 15 Ramadhan 1447 H. Kiai Masyhuril said the gathering, which began with breaking the fast, took place in a warm atmosphere between the government and the ulama, discussing a range of strategic issues. These included global geopolitics and Indonesia’s diplomacy aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East. Kiai Masyhuril conveyed that President Prabowo invited leaders of Islamic organisations, including Al Washliyah, ulama and heads of pesantren to work together to safeguard and build the nation, especially domestically. ‘While there are extraordinary circumstances out there due to war, he hopes and prays that Indonesia remains safe and vigilant,’ Kiai Masyhuril told Republika on Friday, 6 March 2026.
