Chair of DPR Commission XII Expresses Hopes for the Press Community
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chair of DPR Commission XII Bambang Patijaya hopes that synergy between the DPR and the press community continues to be maintained to support transparency and increase public trust in the legislature, especially on strategic issues such as energy transition and national energy resilience.
“First, I would like to express my thanks for the attention from fellow journalists because in this regard, we are people who are assessed by the journalists,” said Bambang in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Bambang was previously named “Leadership in Energy Transition and Energy Independence” at the KWP Award 2026 event initiated by the Coordinating Body of Parliamentary Journalists (KWP) at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (16/4).
The award was given as a form of appreciation for Bambang’s commitment in overseeing strategic issues in the energy sector in parliament.
Bambang continued by expressing his gratitude to the journalists, especially those in the KWP, who have paid attention and evaluated performance.
According to him, good partnership between parliament and the media will help in delivering accurate and balanced information.
“We are pleased to partner with fellow parliamentary media so that, hopefully, it can further enhance cooperation in delivering information to the public in a balanced, accurate, precise, and quality manner,” he said.
The KWP Award 2026 is not only a ceremonial event but also a symbol of oversight and appreciation from parliamentary journalists towards the performance of people’s representatives.
Through the award, legislators are expected to be further encouraged to continue presenting policies that favour the people and support the realisation of Golden Indonesia.
The event aims to objectively capture the performance of leaders and people’s representatives through press observations.
In this 2026 edition, there were more than 60 award recipients nominated.
The tradition of giving such awards has been consistent, such as the KWP Award 2021 led by Marlen Erikson Sitompul and the KWP Award 2023 helmed by Ariawan along with Samrut Lellosima.
The implementation of the KWP Award 2026 also received broad support from a number of state-owned enterprises (BUMNs) and private companies that play a role in national development, including Bank Mandiri, BNI, BRI, GoTo, Astra, Hutama Karya, PLN, Taspen, Inalum, and others.
