Chair of DPR Commission II Rifqinizamy Karsayuda has appreciated the SMAN 1 Pontianak team participating in the MPR Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC). Rifqi will provide scholarships to all participants who took part in the MPR LCC.

“Hopefully after this is over, I also spontaneously gave appreciation yesterday by providing an S1 study scholarship to China for Ocha. Just now I conveyed to the other nine siblings that I will find the same scholarship for these nine siblings because they wouldn’t have reached this point if they weren’t together,” said Rifqi after meeting the SMAN 1 Pontianak team in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

Rifqi stated that the competition was a collective effort by the entire SMAN 1 Pontianak team. As an alumnus of the school, Rifqi expressed thanks for the appreciation given by the public.

“This is collective work and I think I appreciate that all my younger siblings are great. Thank you for the public’s appreciation for State Senior High School 1 Pontianak,” he said.

Rifqi also appreciated the communication skills of the MPR LCC participants from SMAN 1 Pontianak. Rifqi emphasised that the teenage participants must be protected psychologically.

“I think I was surprised to see the communication skills of my younger siblings. If it were me back then, that would be first or second year of high school. At that time, when I led the OSIS at this high school, my communication skills weren’t as good as this,” said Rifqi.

“No less important, we must also realise that they are teenagers who must be protected psychologically,” he added.

On the same occasion, the student who protested because her answer was correct, Josepha Alexandra or Ocha, expressed thanks for the support given by the public. Ocha said that the support motivated her to be more enthusiastic and develop further.

“From me and the team, we thank the public for their support and positive aspirations towards us. Hopefully this can become our spirit and motivation to develop and advance further in the future,” said Ocha.

In a video that circulated seen on Monday (11/5), the judge gave different scores for the same answer from participants. In the competition, Group C from SMAN 1 Pontianak received a minus five score for an answer related to the process of selecting BPK members.

However, a similar answer given by Group B from SMAN 1 Sambas was given a score of 10 by the same judge, namely the Head of the Assessment Bureau of the MPR RI Secretariat General, Dyastasita. Participants from Group C protested because they felt their answer was the same. However, the judge stated that Group C’s answer did not clearly mention the Regional Representative Council (DPD).

The MPR has also deactivated the judging panel and MC at the quiz event. The MPR will comprehensively evaluate the activity.

“Regarding the buzz in social media news about the 2026 Four Pillars LCC at the West Kalimantan Province level, regarding the assessment of participants’ answers in one of the competition sessions, the organising committee from the MPR RI General Secretariat has deactivated the judging panel and MC at this LCC activity,” stated the MPR on its official Instagram account on Tuesday (12/5).
