CFX strengthens regulator-industry dialogue on crypto asset governance
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Crypto exchange PT Central Finansial X (CFX) is strengthening dialogue between regulators and industry players to discuss regulatory adjustments and the governance of digital financial asset trading in Indonesia.
CFX, together with PT Kliring Komoditi Indonesia (KKI) and PT Kustodian Koin Indonesia (ICC), held CFX Cryptalk Vol. 2.0 and the CFX Seaside Mixer in Bali on the sidelines of Coinfest Asia 2026.
“This second CFX Cryptalk serves as a two-way discussion space between us as infrastructure providers and our members, which was also observed by the OJK and Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives,” said CFX President Director Subani in an official statement received in Jakarta on Friday.
He said two-way communication is necessary so that infrastructure providers and industry players can convey the dynamics and challenges faced in implementing regulations.
CFX Cryptalk brought together digital financial asset trading infrastructure providers, Digital Financial Asset Traders (PAKD), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and representatives of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives to discuss regulatory developments and industry needs.
According to Subani, one of the main discussions concerned the implications of Law Number 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK Law) for the day-to-day business activities of digital asset industry players.
He said the discussion also addressed the dynamics, challenges, and various questions raised by industry players in responding to these regulatory adjustments.
The discussion became relevant after the authority to regulate and supervise digital financial assets, including crypto assets, shifted from the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) to the OJK on 10 January 2025 as mandated by the P2SK Law.
Subani expressed hope that the aspirations and outcomes of discussions between industry players, regulators, and policymakers can provide input for the development of derivative policies and adaptive supervisory approaches.
He assessed that cross-stakeholder communication is also necessary to strengthen governance and increase public trust in the digital financial asset ecosystem.
In addition to CFX Cryptalk, the CFX Seaside Mixer brought together legislators, regulators, industry players, technology providers, and institutional investors to broaden communication among stakeholders in the digital asset sector.
CFX, KKI, and ICC executives also participated in several panels at Coinfest Asia 2026, which discussed, among other things, the development of stablecoins, transaction settlement models, and institutional readiness for the utilisation of digital assets.
The trading of digital financial assets, including crypto assets, is currently regulated through OJK Regulation Number 27 of 2024, which has been amended by POJK Number 23 of 2025.
Based on OJK data as of June 2026, there are two crypto exchanges in Indonesia, namely CFX and PT Fortuna Integritas Mandiri (ICEX).
OJK has also approved licences for 32 entities in the crypto asset trading ecosystem, comprising two exchanges, two clearing institutions, two custodians, and 26 PAKDs.
