CFX Crypto Conference 2026 Promotes Adaptive Regulation for Digital Asset Innovation
Crypto asset industry players and regulators are pushing for the development of more adaptive regulations to expand the use of digital assets in Indonesia. This step is considered vital so that crypto assets are not merely used as investment instruments, but also provide broader benefits in supporting the national digital economy.
This issue was a key topic of discussion at the CFX Crypto Conference (CCC) 2026, organised by PT Central Finansial X (CFX) in Jakarta on Monday (8/6/2026). The forum brought together regulators, industry players, and associations to discuss the development of the crypto asset ecosystem in Indonesia.
The Executive Head of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets Supervision at the OJK (Financial Services Authority), Adi Budiarlo, stated that regulators are striving to maintain a balance between innovation space and consumer protection amidst rapid technological advancements.
“In responding to the dynamics of innovation in the Digital Financial Assets sector, OJK applies the principles of balance and technology neutrality. Through the principle of balance, OJK ensures that innovation development goes hand-in-hand with the strengthening of risk management and consumer protection, thereby creating a healthy, safe, and sustainable industry,” said Adi.
According to Adi, OJK has also prepared a Regulatory Sandbox mechanism as a testing ground for various new business models and products within the digital financial asset sector.
On the other hand, industry players believe that Indonesia already possesses sufficient infrastructural foundations to support the development of various digital asset innovations. Several products, such as Rupiah-based stablecoins and crypto repo services, are beginning to emerge as alternatives for utilising crypto assets beyond trading activities.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI), Robby, noted that the national crypto asset industry has shown more organised growth and possesses a higher level of protection compared to several years ago.
“Now is the time to prove the next step: that the best innovations in this ecosystem are born domestically. Our consumers are ready, regulations are supportive, and industry players are also prepared to develop various new innovations,” said Robby.
