CFD Rasuna Said to Resume on 7 June 2026
The Jakarta Provincial Government has confirmed that the Car Free Day (CFD) on HR Rasuna Said Road will resume on Sunday, 7 June 2026, following a comprehensive evaluation of the initial implementation. Special Staff to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Chico Hakim, stated that the CFD will take place every Sunday from 5:30 to 9:00 AM WIB, a shorter duration than the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD which ends at 10:00 AM. “The timing has been deliberately shortened compared to Sudirman-Thamrin CFD to account for increasing community and office activity in the area from 10:00 AM onwards,” Chico said in Jakarta on Friday (29 May).
An evaluation by the Transportation Department and several Regional Government Agencies (SKPD) indicated positive impacts on the community and environment from the new Rasuna Said corridor policy. Key aspects reviewed included post-revitalisation infrastructure readiness, traffic management, area access, and supporting facilities such as sidewalks and security.
The CFD at Rasuna Said was temporarily suspended on 17 May to address technical issues for more optimal public space implementation. Chico added that preparations are now in the final stage, with the Jakarta Provincial Government coordinating with police, Satpol PP, and area managers to ensure resident comfort. Infrastructure improvements in the area are targeted for completion before Jakarta’s anniversary celebration. “We are confident the June implementation will proceed better and provide a comfortable open space for Jakarta residents,” he concluded.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the CFD at Rasuna Said, effective 1 June 2026, with the area being prepared as a new icon of South Jakarta. Governor Pramono Anung plans to implement CFD at Rasuna Said and adjust Car Free Day operating hours, while the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DKI) urged thorough traffic and street vendor studies.
