CFD at Rasuna Said to Resume Regular Operations from 7 June 2026, 05:30-09:00 WIB

The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) will resume regular Car Free Day (CFD) operations on HR Rasuna Said Street in South Jakarta from Sunday, 7 June 2026, running from 05:30 to 09:00 WIB.

Special Staff to the Jakarta Governor, Chico Hakim, stated that evaluations conducted after the initial CFD held on 10 May 2026 led to the decision to implement the event regularly starting next week.

‘The Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to resume regular Car Free Day (CFD) on HR Rasuna Said Street every Sunday from 05:30 to 09:00 WIB,’ Chico said in Jakarta on Friday, 29 June 2026.

He explained that the duration was intentionally shortened compared to the Sudirman-Thamrin CFD to accommodate business activities and office hours in the surrounding area, which typically become busy from 10:00 WIB.

Chico added that post-initial event field evaluations assessed road infrastructure readiness post-revitalisation, traffic management, and access control for the area. Support facilities for the public were also improved, while the government continues to consider the impact of CFD on local mobility and comfort.

‘The overall evaluation was positive due to the benefits for public space and the environment, though some technical issues require follow-up. This is why it was temporarily suspended on 17 May,’ he said.

Chico noted ongoing coordination with Polri, Satpol PP, and area managers for CFD preparations. He expressed confidence that the Rasuna Said CFD will proceed smoothly and provide a comfortable open space for Jakarta residents.
