Ceria Achieves First Green PROPER Rating, Reinforcing Commitment to Sustainable Environmental Management
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria) has achieved the Green PROPER (Beyond Compliance) rating for the 2024-2025 period from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry/Environmental Control Agency.
This award reinforces the company’s dedication and consistency in environmental management.
This accomplishment is Ceria’s first after previously receiving the Blue PROPER for six consecutive years since 2018.
President Director of PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama, Abdul Haris Tatang, stated that this achievement serves as a catalyst for Ceria to continuously improve its performance sustainably and provide broader benefits to society and the environment.
“We are grateful for Ceria’s first Green PROPER achievement. This is the result of the hard work of all company personnel in maintaining a balance between operations and environmental preservation,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Achieving the Green PROPER rating demonstrates that Ceria not only meets environmental compliance standards but also exceeds them through various innovations.
These efforts include energy efficiency, emissions reduction, sustainable waste management, and biodiversity conservation.
This ranking improvement reflects Ceria’s increasingly progressive environmental performance transformation.
The achievement also strengthens the company’s position as a domestic investment-based (PMDN) nickel mining and processing industry player that prioritises responsible operational practices.
Abdul Haris emphasised that the Green PROPER achievement will serve as an initial foundation for the company to continuously enhance environmental management standards.
“Ceria will continue to improve environmental and operational management standards sustainably, thereby providing greater added value to the nation and the national mining industry,” he concluded.
Head of Mining Engineering at PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama, Alpi Cekdin, added that this success is inseparable from the implementation of integrated sustainability principles across all operational lines.
According to him, the company consistently implements Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and ensures that health, safety, and environmental (K3L) aspects operate optimally through the Mining Safety Management System (SMKP).
“Various initiatives such as energy efficiency, emissions reduction, responsible waste management, and biodiversity protection are important parts of our efforts to achieve optimal environmental performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Environment and Forestry/Head of the Environmental Control Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, appreciated companies participating in PROPER, including Ceria.
