CEO Rumoured to Become TNI Intelligence Chief, Bulog Denies

Jakarta, VIVA – Head of Public Relations for Perum Bulog, Tomi Wijaya, has affirmed that information linking the position of President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, to becoming Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais) of the TNI is untrue (a hoax) and not in accordance with the facts.

“We need to emphasise that the narrative stating that President Director of Perum Bulog, Lt Gen TNI (Ret) Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, holds the position of Kabais TNI is untrue and constitutes disinformation that has the potential to mislead the public,” said Tomi when confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.

Perum Bulog is responding to circulating reports containing information deemed inaccurate and potentially misleading to the public regarding the profile of Lt Gen TNI (Ret) Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, including narratives linking the position of President Director of Perum Bulog with the role of Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais) TNI.

Furthermore, Tomi conveyed that Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani’s assignment as President Director of Perum Bulog is an official government decision through the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.

“In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, he has resigned (from the TNI) upon being appointed as CEO of Bulog and is now a retiree from the TNI,” added Tomi.

Perum Bulog also reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out the state’s mandate in the field of food security in a professional, transparent, and accountable manner.

In light of the widespread dissemination of unverified information, Perum Bulog urges all parties and the public to prioritise principles of verification and balance in reporting.

“And not to spread unconfirmed information,” said Tomi.
