JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The President Director of PT Terra Drone Indonesia, Michael Wishnu Wardhana, delivered a direct apology to the parents of the victims who died in the office fire.

The apology was conveyed during the third hearing of the Terra Drone office fire case at the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Michael was seen shedding tears while delivering the apology.

This direct apology marks the first time Michael Wishnu has done so to the victims’ families.

“I wish to express my condolences and my deepest apologies for this incident,” Michael stated in the opening of his apology.

This is because Terra Drone lost 22 employees who perished in the fire.

“In light of this empathy, we are endeavouring to alleviate the burden on all of you, Fathers and Mothers. However, please understand that we have our limitations,” he said.

Michael stated that he and the management team hope the families of the deceased victims will forgive them.

He then conveyed that if any family members need compensation in the future that can be fulfilled by the company, they should communicate it promptly.

“At present, what comes to mind for me is to rally a scholarship team for the families left behind if they have children. And for compensation, communication will continue,” he said.

This is particularly for those currently processing compensation for their families.

He also apologised if communication between the victims’ families and the company management had been difficult.

“So far, we have contacted them for his wife; we will improve it and also wish to bridge it. I kindly ask that you, Fathers and Mothers, be willing to forgive us,” he said.
