Central Tapanuli Hit by Flash Floods Once Again
Flooding has once again struck several areas in Central Tapanuli regency, North Sumatra, after heavy rain poured down from midday on Monday (16 February).
Central Tapanuli Regent Masinton Pasaribu said rain continued to fall across nearly the entire regency through Monday evening.
Following the major flood on 25 November last year, a subsequent flood occurred on 11 February before striking again on 16 February.
A number of areas that were previously unaffected have now also been inundated.
The local government has prepared evacuation and shelter points for affected residents, including schools, community health centres, and government offices.
