Central Sulawesi Provincial Government Tightens Livestock Surveillance to Prevent FMD Ahead of Eid al-Adha

The Central Sulawesi Provincial Government is tightening surveillance on livestock traffic to prevent the spread of Foot-and-Mouth Disease ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. The Head of Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health, Dandy Alfita, stated that this step is being taken through oversight of distribution up to livestock vaccination. As of March 2026, 4,981 animals have been vaccinated out of a target of 15,000 heads. The government assures that sacrificial animals are in healthy condition and fit for consumption.
