The Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the Ministry of Law recorded non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from intellectual property services reaching IDR 389.1 million in the first semester of 2026, driven by increased public utilisation of the services. Head of the Central Sulawesi Ministry of Law Regional Office Rakhmat Renaldy in Palu on Wednesday stated that the revenue came from copyright services amounting to IDR 208.6 million, trademarks IDR 162.1 million, and patents IDR 18.4 million. Throughout January to June 2026, the office received 1,234 applications for intellectual property services across various categories. Copyright applications dominated with 1,043 requests, followed by 164 trademark applications, 19 communal intellectual property applications, seven patent applications, and one geographical indication application. Meanwhile, applications for industrial designs, trade secrets, and integrated circuit layout designs were not recorded. According to Rakhmat, the high number of applications indicates increasing public awareness in protecting works, innovations, and regional identity through intellectual property legal instruments. He assessed that the dominance of copyright applications reflects the growth of the creative economy sector in Central Sulawesi, while the increase in trademark applications shows that business actors are paying more attention to legal certainty regarding their business identities. Rakhmat affirmed that his office will continue to expand education, consultation, and mobile services to further increase the utilisation of intellectual property services and provide a greater contribution to non-tax state revenue.
