Central Sulawesi Ministry of Law Records IDR 389.1 Million in IP Service Revenue

Palu (ANTARA) - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law in Central Sulawesi recorded non-tax state revenue (PNBP) from intellectual property services of Rp389.1 million in the first half of 2026, driven by increasing public use of the services.

Head of the Central Sulawesi Ministry of Law Regional Office, Rakhmat Renaldy, said in Palu on Wednesday that the revenue came from copyright services amounting to Rp208.6 million, trademarks Rp162.1 million, and patents Rp18.4 million.

“In the first half of 2026, non-tax state revenue from intellectual property services reached Rp389.1 million,” he said.

Between January and June 2026, the Central Sulawesi Ministry of Law Regional Office received 1,234 intellectual property service applications across various categories.

Copyright applications dominated with 1,043 filings, followed by trademarks with 164, communal intellectual property with 19, patents with seven, and geographical indications with one.

Meanwhile, applications for industrial designs, trade secrets, and integrated circuit layout designs had not been recorded.

According to Rakhmat, the high number of applications shows growing public awareness of protecting works, innovations, and regional identities through legal intellectual property instruments.

He viewed the dominance of copyright applications as reflecting the development of the creative economy sector in Central Sulawesi, while the increase in trademark applications indicates that business actors are paying greater attention to legal certainty over their business identities.

Rakhmat affirmed that his office would continue to expand education, consultation, and proactive outreach services so that the use of intellectual property services continues to grow and makes a greater contribution to PNBP.
