Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor: Adhyaksa Involved in Achieving Food Self-Sufficiency

The Head of the Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati Sulteng), Zullikar Tanjung, stated that the Adhyaksa corps is involved in realising national food self-sufficiency, in line with the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, actualised through a maize harvest on five hectares of land in Parigi Moutong Regency (Parimo). “Achieving food self-sufficiency is not solely the task of technical ministries; we also have a responsibility to safeguard national food security through collaboration between farmers and local government in the agricultural sector,” said Zullikar Tanjung during the maize harvest event in Parigi Moutong on Monday. He explained that the Adhyaksa corps’ involvement in helping to achieve maize self-sufficiency is carried out through the Jaksa Mandiri Pangan and Desa Mandiri Pangan programmes. The harvest conducted by his office together with various parties is a follow-up to the successful planting activities carried out in February 2026. “From activities like this, we are not only talking about the harvest yield, but also building mutual cooperation and a sense of family,” he remarked. According to him, food security is the foundation for the Indonesian people’s survival, so strengthening food security for self-sufficiency requires cross-sector collaboration. “We are committed to ensuring this programme continues, and we hope the local government can assist with land expansion,” said Zullikar. Meanwhile, the Head of the Parigi Moutong Food Security Agency, Sofiana, explained that the five hectares of land cultivated for the Jaksa Mandiri Pangan programme were planted with NK 212 Sakti variety maize seeds. From this land area, the estimated yield projection reaches 10 to 12 tonnes of dry shelled maize per hectare, representing a high production figure. “Currently, the price of maize reaches Rp5,000 to Rp6,000 per kilogram for selected dry kernels; with such prices, farmers are certainly greatly benefited,” she said.
