Central Sulawesi Directorate General of Corrections Regional Office Destroys Hundreds of Smuggled Mobile Phones in Prison

ANTARA - The Central Sulawesi Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (Kanwil Ditjenpas Sulteng) destroyed hundreds of mobile phones resulting from searches and thwarting attempts to smuggle them into prisons and detention centres (Lapas and Rutan) across Central Sulawesi during the period of January-April 2026 at the Class IIA Palu Prison on Thursday (7/5). Head of Kanwil Ditjenpas Sulteng, Bagus Kurniawan, emphasised that the destruction of evidence is not just a symbolic activity, but a form of transparency to the public as well as a firm message that there is no room for violations within prisons and detention centres.
