Central Sulawesi and UAE Strengthen Investment Commitment in Four Sectors

The Provincial Government of Central Sulawesi and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Indonesia have strengthened their investment commitment across four sectors: minerals, renewable energy, oil palm plantations, and fisheries. “We see the seriousness of the UAE Ambassador in exploring investment potential in Central Sulawesi. Many strategic matters have been discussed, and God willing, we will soon follow up concretely,” said Central Sulawesi Governor Anwar Hafid after receiving a visit from UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri at the Governor’s Office in Palu City on Tuesday. He emphasised that the visit was an important momentum to open wider investment opportunities from the UAE to Central Sulawesi. Furthermore, the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government is opening the widest possible space for investors to invest and contribute to regional development. “We hope that investment from the United Arab Emirates can soon enter and have a direct impact on economic growth and the welfare of the people of Central Sulawesi,” he hoped. “We continue to encourage energy transition in industrial areas, as well as prepare various facilities for investors. This is part of our efforts to create a conducive investment climate,” he asserted. Meanwhile, UAE Ambassador Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri affirmed his country’s interest in the investment potential in Central Sulawesi. He assessed that this region has great opportunities to be developed through strategic cooperation. “We see many investment opportunities that can be developed together. Our focus includes the energy, oil palm, fisheries, tourism, and mineral sectors,” he revealed. “This is important so that investment opportunities can be followed up concretely and in a directed manner,” he said. As a next step, a follow-up meeting will soon be held in Jakarta to present in more detail the four main sectors of focus, namely minerals, renewable energy, oil palm plantations, and fisheries.
