Central Lombok Regency Strengthens Active Posyandu Movement
The Central Lombok Regency government, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is continuously strengthening the implementation of the active Posyandu movement as a strategic step to improve the quality of community health services based on the life cycle.
“This programme is part of the implementation of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) through collaboration between the local government, organisations, and Posyandu volunteers in Central Lombok,” said the Chairperson of the Central Lombok Posyandu Supervisory Team, Baiq Nurul Aini Pathul Bahri, during a visit to the Sehati Posyandu in Teratak Village, North Batukliang District, on Friday.
She stated that the implementation of the active Posyandu movement is directed towards supporting the application of Primary Service Integration (ILP), expanding the role of Posyandu as a community health service centre that targets not only infants and toddlers but all age groups.
“Through service transformation, we hope that Posyandu will provide services throughout the life cycle, starting from pregnant and postpartum women, infants, toddlers, preschool children, adolescents, adults, to the elderly,” she said.
Furthermore, she noted that these activities also support the strengthening of the Transformation of 6 Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in the health sector and encourage community involvement in building healthy lifestyles at the village level.
The Central Lombok Regency government hopes that the active Posyandu movement can continue to develop as the frontline of community health services.
“This programme simultaneously strengthens efforts to prevent stunting and improve the quality of human resources towards a healthy and prosperous Central Lombok,” she added.
The activities are being implemented gradually, targeting several Posyandu units spread across 12 districts in Central Lombok to support the enhancement of public services.
