The Central Lombok Regency Government has prepared a temporary building to serve as the office for the XXX/Rinambora Regional Military Command (Kodam) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The designated building is the former Regent’s office located on Jalan Gajah Mada, Praya District, Central Lombok.

“The high-ranking two-star generals will occupy the former Central Lombok Regent’s office. Therefore, we are currently reorganising the government agencies currently located there and relocating them,” explained the Regent of Central Lombok, Lalu Pathul Bahki, during an interview on Monday (5/10/2026).

The permanent Kodam Rinambora headquarters will be situated in Rembitan Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok. However, the Central Lombok Regency Government was requested to provide a temporary office as the permanent building is not yet ready. The local government selected the former Regent’s office as it was deemed the most ideal option.

The Gerindra Party politician stated that the construction of Kodam Rinambora will require approximately 70 hectares of land, which is state-owned land. “While waiting for the permanent building in Kuta, Rembitan Village, we may carry out some minor renovations as the building is quite large,” Pathul emphasised.

Pathul explained that the name ‘Kodam Rinambora’ is an acronym derived from Mount Rinjani and Mount Tambora. This name was chosen as the most ideal representation, as it reflects two mountains that both hold significant historical importance to West Nusa Tenggara.

Pathul noted that the establishment of a new military command in NTB is a development that deserves appreciation from the local government. He remarked that he had never imagined a military command would be established in NTB, as previously, such commands were only located in Bali.

“We express our gratitude to the Almighty, as we never imagined the formation of a Kodam in Central Lombok and the results we are receiving,” said Pathul.

In addition to the military command, Central Lombok has also been selected as the site for the construction of a Territorial Development Battalion in Mangkung Village. The Central Lombok Regency Government has already prepared 50 hectares of land for this development.

“Some time ago, the Udayana Regional Military Commander and the Korem (Military Area Command) conducted site surveys for the construction of the Territorial Development Battalion. We hope construction will commence soon,” Pathul added.

Pathul expressed hope that the construction of the military command and the battalion would drive further progress in Central Lombok. He believes there is significant potential for increased community welfare.

“With the large number of personnel arriving, the resulting local demand will undoubtedly have a broad impact on the people of Central Lombok,” he concluded.
