Investigators from the Central Lombok Police have scheduled an examination for the leader of an Islamic boarding school, identified by the initials MR, 55, who is a suspect in a case involving a student being burned. The head of the public relations section for the Central Lombok Police, First Inspector Lalu Brata, confirmed the agenda, stating that the examination of the suspect is in line with the investigation process conducted by the Women and Children Protection Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division. Brata referred to a statement made by the head of the criminal investigation unit, Adjunct Police Commissioner Punguan Hutahaean, during a press conference on the case’s suspect determination. “The boarding school leader will be summoned again for questioning. He was previously summoned twice but was unable to attend due to illness. He will be called in as soon as possible to provide his statement,” Brata said. Punguan also assured the public that no detention has been carried out against the other suspect, a 15-year-old student with the initials AMR, as the individual is still a minor. “The underage suspect has not been detained but is subject to a mandatory reporting obligation,” he stated.
