The Central Lombok Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has discovered a base selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) 3 kg cylinders above the highest retail price (HET). This was revealed on Wednesday (15/4/2026). The base is located in Puyung Village, Jonggat Subdistrict. The owner of the base exploited the shortage of 3 kg LPG to raise prices. “Last week in Puyung, there was still a base selling above the HET,” said the Head of the Central Lombok Disperindag, Lalu Setiawan, to detikBali on Monday (20/4/2026). The price increase from this base causes the retail level prices to be much higher. As a result, many retailers hoard to create shortages and cause prices to soar further. “When the base sells above the HET, then when people resell it, it will definitely go up,” said Setiawan. Based on these findings, the Central Lombok Disperindag immediately issued a recommendation letter to the agent to give a warning letter (SP) to the base owner. This is done to prevent any defiant bases. On the other hand, Setiawan revealed that the availability of 3 kg LPG is actually quite normal. Based on survey results at several bulk LPG filling stations (SPBE), distribution to agents is carried out sufficiently. “Actually, LPG is not scarce; after checking the SPBE and agent dropping, it’s normal,” explained Setiawan. Setiawan asked all LPG bases in Central Lombok not to hoard to gain big profits. The Central Lombok Disperindag, Setiawan firmly stated, will not hesitate to recommend the revocation of permits for naughty bases.
