Central Lombok DPRD Highlights Nakes' Rp 200,000 Salary: A Pitiful Situation
The salary of part-time PPPK healthcare workers (nakes) in Central Lombok, amounting to just Rp 200,000, has drawn criticism from the DPRD. Vice Chairman of the Central Lombok DPRD, Lalu Muhamad Akhyar, expressed his dismay and pressed the local government (pemda) to promptly find a solution. “We’re quite dismayed, yes. That’s why we’re asking the local government to find a way out. They can be creative in identifying which sectors to reduce or cut,” Akhyar told detikBali on Thursday (16/4/2026). Akhyar emphasised that the healthcare sector is a vital service that must maintain its conducive environment. He is concerned that this situation could lead to work stoppages, potentially disrupting healthcare services. “Because I see that the healthcare sector is very vital, yes. So, we need to think about what the way out is,” he said. The Golkar Party politician acknowledged the dilemmatic state of the region’s finances. This is because regional fiscal resources still depend on central government transfer funds, which are affected by efficiency policies. “We’re pushing for a salary increase. But we know there’s efficiency from the Central Government right now,” he stressed. He assessed that the local government’s current option is to cut unproductive activities, such as ceremonial events or non-urgent meetings. “We could also efficiency unproductive activities. For example, school principals’ meetings could use Zoom or other methods,” he explained. In addition, the DPRD suggested that the Central Lombok Pemda imitate the model implemented by the Lombok Timur Regency Government, which has managed to provide larger salaries for part-time PPPK workers. “That’s it (in other areas, they can do it). That’s why we’re encouraging more creativity. The neighbour next door can do it, why can’t we? How to do it, that’s it. But whatever the method, as long as no rules are violated,” he concluded. Previously, hundreds of part-time PPPK healthcare workers in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), protested the policy of the local Health Office (Dikes). They highlighted the salary of only Rp 200,000, which is smaller than that of drivers and cleaning service (CS) staff, reaching Rp 500,000. “Our demands are clear. First, regarding the salary in the contract, which is Rp 200,000. For CS and technical friends, the salary is Rp 500,000. Only we nakes have a salary of Rp 200,000,” said the Chair of the Central Lombok Nakes Communication Forum, Sumarni, to the media on Wednesday (15/4/2026). The salary amount was known at the signing of the part-time PPPK work contract on Monday (13/4). In the contract, nakes are recorded as receiving Rp 200,000, while technical staff such as drivers, admins, to cleaning staff receive Rp 500,000.
