The Central Lombok district government in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has begun distributing material aid and building supplies to residents whose homes were damaged by natural disasters that occurred in early 2026.

“The data shows approximately 700 households were affected by the natural disasters,” said Ridwan Maruf, Head of the Central Lombok Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), in Central Lombok on Friday.

He said the distribution of aid in the form of cement, timber and asbestos sheeting only commenced in mid-February 2026 due to procurement delays.

“The recipients of this aid are spread across the sub-districts of Kopang, Janapria, Praya Timur, Pujut, Praya Barat, Jonggat and several other sub-districts,” he said.

Meanwhile, the distribution of basic necessities and logistics had been carried out immediately following the disasters.

“Basic aid was provided in the aftermath of the natural disasters. We are now focused on distributing building materials,” he said.

He stated that the total stimulus budget for natural disaster relief in 2026 amounts to Rp250 million. However, the amount already spent on assisting affected communities has not yet been calculated.

“The key point is that the district government has prepared stimulus aid for communities affected by natural disasters,” he said.

Previously, the Central Lombok BPBD recorded the impact of extreme weather and tornado disasters across several villages, including Bilelando Village (3 households), Jelantik Village (29 households), Labulia Village (1 household), Tanak Awu Village (1 household), Teruai (1 household), Laju Village (1 household), Murbaya Village (1 household), and Nadia Village (1 household).

“A total of approximately 41 buildings were affected across 10 villages,” said Ridwan.

He added that besides the tornadoes, heavy rainfall also caused flooding in several areas, including Kabul Village (337 households affected), Bonder Village (5 households), Selong Belanak Village (109 households), Tanak Rarang Village (16 households), Kateng Village (15 households), Kuta Village (27 households), Pengembur Village (70 households), Puyung Village (5 households) and Kidang Village (80 households).
