Central KPI to focus on creating a healthy broadcasting ecosystem
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2026-2029 period, Muhammad Hasrul Hasan, together with Vice Chairman Evri Rizqi Monarshi, will focus on implementing programmes aimed at creating a healthy broadcasting ecosystem during their leadership of the commission.
“Regulatory fairness for fellow media industry players is essential to deliver a healthy media ecosystem, including broadcasting,” said Muhammad Hasrul Hasan in a KPI press statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In an effort to realise a healthy broadcasting ecosystem, the KPI leadership for the 2026-2029 period will oversee the revision process of the Broadcasting Law currently underway in the House of Representatives (DPR).
In addition, the KPI board for the 2026-2029 period will seek to enhance the capacity of broadcasting institutions in the regions and improve public literacy regarding the importance of quality broadcasting.
The appointment of Muhammad Hasrul Hasan and Evri Rizqi Monarshi as chairman and vice chairman of the Central KPI was made during the first plenary meeting of Central KPI members for the 2026-2029 period.
Muhammad Hasrul Hasan had been active in the institution before serving as Chairman of the Central KPI. From 2022 to 2026, he was entrusted as Coordinator for Policy and Broadcasting System Development at the Central KPI. Previously, he was active in the South Sulawesi Regional KPI and had served as chairman of the Regional KPI.
Evri Rizqi Monarshi, before serving as vice chairman of the Central KPI for the 2026-2029 period, was a member of the Institutional Affairs Division of the Central KPI for the 2022-2026 period.
Besides determining the chairman and vice chairman, the first plenary meeting of Central KPI members for the 2026-2029 period also decided the commission’s management structure. The meeting appointed Aliyah as coordinator for institutional affairs, Amin Shabana as coordinator for broadcast content supervision, and Tulus Santoso as coordinator for policy and broadcasting system management.
